چکیده
Botanical biopesticides have emerged as sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives to synthetic pesticides, whose indiscriminate use leads several drawbacks human environmental health. To the best of our knowledge, there been no reports on M. pubescens’ bioactivity phytopathogens affecting crops a potential fungicide or antifeedant. This has encouraged us investigate roots this plant source biopesticides. The present study evaluation extract from Magonia pubescens A. St.-Hill., species Cerrado (Brazilian savannah), phytopathogenic fungi Botrytis cinerea, Fusarium oxysporum, Alternaria alternata. In addition, its insect antifeedant effect was assayed against Chrysodeixis chalcites. Thus, an in vitro test-assay used determine (percentage growth inhibition, % GI) ethanolic species, whereas leaf-disk bioassay 5th instar larvae C. chalcites performed evaluate insecticidal potential. further fractionated by liquid–liquid partition using solvents increasing polarity. hexane/dichloromethane fraction exhibited moderated potency similar three (around GI 30 at 1 mg/mL), n-butanol showed slight improvement B. cinerea (% 39.18 mg/mL). Moreover, strong activity, with refusal rate (FR) higher than 90% both choice non-choice assays chalcites, while ethyl acetate fractions behaved appetite suppressors. These results highlight promising deserve investigations optimize extraction procedures.

The essential oil from the aerial parts of Aaronsohnia pubescens subsp. pubescens plant (APS oil) was extracted by hydrodistillation, and then its composition was analyzed by gas chromatography (GC) and GC-mass spectrometry (GC/MS). We identified thirty-four constituents presenting 87% of the total amount, Which, Carvacrol (13.9%), α-Pinene (10.3 %), E-Anethole (10.1%) and Ar-Turmerone (9.3%) w...
متن کاملNatural products in crop protection.
The tremendous increase in crop yields associated with the 'green' revolution has been possible in part by the discovery and utilization of chemicals for pest control. However, concerns over the potential impact of pesticides on human health and the environment has led to the introduction of new pesticide registration procedures, such as the Food Quality Protection Act in the United States. The...
متن کاملToxicity of extract of Magonia pubescens (Sapindales: Sapindaceae) St. Hil. to control the brown dog tick, Rhipicephalus sanguineus (Latreille) (Acari: Ixodidae).
The action of crude ethanol extract of the stem bark of the soapberry Magonia pubescens St. Hil. was studied upon larvae of the Brown Dog tick Rhipicephalus sanguineus (Latreille). Tick larvae were obtained by maintaining gravid females in an incubator, after collecting them from naturally infested kennels. The tick larvae were placed in envelopes of filter paper impregnated with different conc...
